Our Team

Dr. Leach, MDreviewed by Dr. Ken Allan

Coordinated care requires a team built for coordination. CCC's leadership combines clinical expertise, operational systems, and a specialist network, all organized around one principle: the managing physician directs the care, and the system makes that direction possible.

Medical Leadership

Dr. Leach, MD — Medical Director, CCC

Dr. Leach serves as Medical Director of The Collision Care Clinic, overseeing the multi-disciplinary care model across all five Colorado locations. As the managing physician, he evaluates patients, builds treatment plans, and monitors recovery, coordinating physical therapy, massage therapy, imaging, specialist referrals, and pain management under a unified clinical strategy.

His role is the clinical foundation of CCC's physician-directed model. Every patient's treatment plan is developed and monitored under his medical direction. At every medical visit, the Care Coordination Form ensures the managing physician sees the full picture: every modality ordered, every visit completed, every specialist result reviewed.

Dr. Kenneth J. Allan, MD — Medical Director, Continuity of Care Colorado

Dr. Allan serves as Medical Director of Continuity of Care Colorado, CCC's sister company. He is an interventional pain management specialist, anesthesiologist, cardiac anesthesia specialist, critical care specialist, and internal medicine physician.

Dr. Allan authored the clinical guidelines that underpin CCC's evidence-based treatment model, drawing on published research from the American Academy of Pain Management, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, NICE, the North American Spine Society, and international whiplash task forces. These guidelines establish the medical evidence base for everything CCC does: why conservative care is first-line, why multi-modal treatment is more effective, when specialist escalation is indicated, and how diagnostic procedures identify pain sources imaging cannot detect.

He co-developed a revolutionary large-field radiofrequency ablation device used in pain management practices worldwide, and treats CCC's referred patients through Injury Solutions when interventional pain management is indicated.

Why a Physician-Directed Model Matters

Most post-accident care in Colorado is provider-centric. You see a physical therapist, or a stand-alone pain doctor, or a single-modality clinic. Each treats their piece. Nobody sees the whole picture.

CCC's model is physician-directed. The managing physician:

  • Evaluates the full injury presentation — musculoskeletal, neurological, cognitive, and psychological
  • Builds the coordinated treatment plan — determining which modalities, in what combination, in what sequence
  • Monitors progress across all providers — not just the visits that happen in this office, but imaging results, specialist recommendations, therapy progress
  • Makes escalation decisions based on clinical evidence — when conservative care needs augmentation, when specialist evaluation is indicated, when the treatment plan needs adjustment
  • Documents everything in one unified record — every clinical finding, every treatment decision, every outcome

The evidence supports this approach. An integrated multidisciplinary approach under physician direction produces better outcomes than fragmented single-modality care (ASA Task Force 2010; Australian Government 2008; Imam 2021; Koes 2006).

Founders

Dean Hasse, PT — Founder & Visionary

Dean brings clinical experience as a physical therapist to CCC's business leadership. His dual perspective, understanding both the clinical demands of injury recovery and the operational systems that support coordinated care, shapes how CCC scales across Colorado.

Dean leads partnership development and growth strategy, building the provider network and attorney relationships that support the coordinated care model.

Brandon Higgins — Founder & Integrator

Brandon designs and builds the systems that make coordinated care operationally possible. Case management workflows, insurance verification processes, the technology platform connecting patients, providers, and care teams: the infrastructure beneath every patient interaction.

He leads technology development including the CareKit platform that powers case management across all five clinic locations.

Blake Higgins, DC — Founder & Operations

Blake manages provider operations across CCC's clinic network. As a Doctor of Chiropractic with direct clinical experience, he ensures the managing physician model is implemented consistently at every location: same quality of evaluation, same coordination standards, same documentation thoroughness.

Monique Weerman — Founder, Finance & Continuity Executive

Monique oversees CCC's financial operations, including lien management, insurance billing, and the financial systems that support the no-upfront-cost model. She also serves as an executive at Continuity of Care Colorado, CCC's sister company. Her work ensures the payment process is transparent and patients' financial questions are answered clearly.

How the Team Supports Your Care

Every patient interaction involves multiple team members working in coordination:

  • Your case manager handles scheduling, insurance verification, benefits coordination, and communication
  • Your managing physician oversees your evaluation, treatment plan, and recovery monitoring
  • Your treatment providers deliver direct care: physical therapy, massage therapy, and other modalities as prescribed
  • Your specialist providers — imaging, orthopedics, pain management, psychology — are coordinated through the managing physician
  • The operations team ensures the system runs consistently across all locations

The team works together so you don't have to coordinate your own care. That's the point.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I see the same doctor at every visit?
Your managing physician, Dr. Leach, oversees your treatment plan and sees you at every medical evaluation visit. Treatment providers (physical therapists, massage therapists, and other specialists) may vary by location and schedule, but all report to the same managing physician who maintains continuity across your entire care.
How does CCC coordinate with outside specialists?
When your managing physician refers you to a specialist (orthopedics, pain management, psychology, imaging), the referral includes your complete clinical history, imaging, and treatment responses. After the specialist evaluates you, their recommendations are integrated back into your treatment plan. The managing physician remains the central coordinator throughout.
What are Dr. Allan's clinical guidelines?
Dr. Allan compiled evidence-based treatment guidelines drawing on published research from the AAPM, ASA, NICE, NASS, the Australian Government, the Swedish Whiplash Task Force, and dozens of other institutions. These guidelines establish that coordinated, multi-modal, physician-directed care is the most effective and cost-efficient approach for motor vehicle injuries, and they inform every treatment decision at CCC.
